this experiment explores the experience of free-floating. what stops most people from free-floating, is fear, not fear of being unable to float but fear of not being able to determine, negotiate, or shape the environment. free-floating is rather like being engaged with everything without being trapped, manipulated, or influenced by it. what i have found to be useful for successful free-floating is: surrendering to floating without raising hope of manipulating the outcome. dissolving all coordinates with no ambition of developing a compass. dispersing without any expectation of recoagulating. as the old saying goes, safety second.
